The Professional Directory for Bay Area Audio
I moved to the Bay Area in the late 80s as a drummer, played in bands, secured major label deals, and somewhere along the way fell in love with the other side of the glass. This is where I became an audio professional. Thirty-plus years later I’m still here — mixing, mastering, recording, and watching one of the best audio communities in the world operate almost entirely in the dark.
That’s what this directory is about.
Unless you already know someone, finding qualified Bay Area audio professionals is harder than it should be. The old Mix Magazine directory is gone. Search engines surface generic results. Word of mouth only goes so far. Artists, producers, labels, and music supervisors end up settling for whoever they can find rather than the right person for the job.
Bay Area Studio Pros exists to fix that.
Every listing is a real, working professional or facility in the San Francisco Bay Area — recording studios, mixing engineers, mastering engineers, session musicians, producers, and more. You can browse by category, filter by location, and reach out directly.
About Matt Boudreau
I’m a Bay Area mixing, mastering, and recording engineer specializing in stereo and Dolby Atmos. My credits include Green Day, Alanis Morissette, Death Cab for Cutie, Florence and the Machine, and Deafheaven. I built this directory because I know firsthand how invisible great engineers, studios and especially session musicians can be to the clients who need them — and because I believe the Bay Area studio community deserves a real home.
